Sounds like a good place to avoid since it sounds enticing.

Okay, so, I must be the only person in the world who's not all that fond of Ikea. Don't get me wrong, it's great for picking up kinda cool doodads and stuff, but you have to walk about 17 miles to find stuff. And their furniture just seems so...cheap. Kudos for you for bringing two mobile kids - you so crazy!

Wendy

Aaaahhhh IKEA - dear dear IKEA was just a 15 minute drive from our home in Germany. Great that you could check the kids in to the playground and shop in peace - the lil bits and bobs always did it for me. I do miss it. I miss their hotdogs even more - and their cookies - oh my goodness. I miss IKEA - we don't have there here in Southern Africa :-(

I know I shouldn't love IKEA, but, I do. Oh, how I do.

A Fight Club quote comes to mind:
"The people I know who used to sit in the bathroom with pornography, now they sit in the bathroom with their IKEA furniture catalogue."
~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 5

IKEA makes me want to shop, and I am a woman who hates shopping. IKEA is like crack for suburbanites, and yes, I should despise it, but I can't. Here in Atlanta, IKEA is in the middle of Atlantic Station, which is a live-work-play community and a drug in its own right. If you find a clinic that treats the addiction, let me know.

This is the way I feel about Target. It's so horrible - I come in for some paper towels and leave three hours later with $400 worth of junk... and i don't even have children.. or a house! God help me when I have children and a house.

I have done the Ikea drive before but here it's 90 minutes away. I do the Target 20 min much more often.

There is one thing that I know is true: self scanning is the devil's trickery.

We recently drove 3.5 hours just to go to Ikea for the day.

Of course, we purchased our entire kitchen while we were there . . .

I'm actually glad we don't have one here. I think I would just move in if we did.

After my first visit to IKEA I became hooked. There are days when I make the trek just for the apple cake in the case. When my husband rolled his eyes after my first trip, I told him that if they sold kids' clothes and food it would be my new Target.

I think maybe it's time for a return trip!
